Black Swan — a boutique wetland hotel on the Río Cruces outside Valdivia, designed by Ippolito Fleitz Group. A charred-timber gabled pavilion rises from the Valdivian temperate rainforest, opening onto the Carlos Anwandter Nature Sanctuary — home to the black-necked swans that give the project its name.
The interior architecture pairs shou sugi ban timber, blackened steel and emerald velvet against herringbone parquet — a residential, fireside language that frames the landscape as the primary luxury of the place.
