Serviced residences within Raffles City Hangzhou, the landmark twin-tower mixed-use development designed by UNStudio in Qianjiang New Town. Delivered with Gensler for CapitaLandand the Ascott team, the project brought Ascott's premium long-stay hospitality into one of the city's most defining contemporary buildings.
As Studio Director within Gensler's Lifestyle Studio, Tomás Contreras established the client relationship with CapitaLand through Adam Li, Design Manager for the development, and was entrusted to help initiate and lead the project delivery in coordination with CapitaLand, Ascott, and the wider Gensler design team.
The work focused on translating the architecture's sculpted geometry into calm, residential interiors — a discreet branded entrance, a sky lobby tuned to extended-stay rituals, and a portfolio of suites that frame Hangzhou through the tower's expressive glazing while maintaining a warm, domestic palette.
